Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Professional Organizer?
A Professional Organizer is someone with the skills to help you get order in your space. They will work with you to take the first steps in getting your home organized and making your daily life more efficient.
What takes place during a consult?
A consult is a chance for you to get to know me and vice versa. We will look at the areas you want to focus on and make a plan for getting organized! I will listen to your goals and ideas. Do you want to have aesthetically pleasing organization or functional “easy access” organization? Together we can decide if you have adequate bins/baskets or if you need anything additional.
Does CPR Home Organizing shop for products that may be needed for a project?
If you currently have products that we can utilize, then we may not need more. If products are needed, I can send you links and suggestions for some that I feel would work best in your home. You can order online and have shipped to you or shop around locally. I will be happy to shop for products but depending on time spent, there may be an additional fee.
How do you estimate time for projects?
Getting an exact number of hours for a job is impossible. Each home and area are different. Time varies based on client involvement, amount of decluttering, and size of space.
Do I have to participate?
Your amount of participation is up to you. I will need your guidance on items to donate or discard. During the consult or initial visit, I will also need your help with the vision to ensure it turns out the way you want. Some clients work with me every step of the way and others help set goals and don’t participate in the organizing process.
Is the process confidential?
Of course! IF you’re comfortable I would love to take some before and after photos, but would not include your personal information. I am working alongside you in your personal space and don’t take that for granted. This process is for you and your family!
Is the process emotional?
At times, getting organized or cleaning out can be very emotional. There are sometimes memories, difficult situations, and personal attachments involved. I am here to help you through this process. Getting through the difficult process and seeing the results on the other side can be healing.
How can I keep up once you get my area organized?
Hopefully, the new organization and a designated “home” for all your items will help you stay organized. I have found that many clients want to have me visit again on a regular basis - quarterly or yearly. One example would be clients with children in school and sports. Priorities and schedules change and so do their organizational patterns. Check out my services page for Maintenance Packages.
